- ➤ The 48th Annual S’edav Va’aki Museum Indian Market will run (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) on Saturday, Dec. 13 and Sunday, Dec. 14, offering local Native American arts and crafts to community visitors. 12 News

- ➤ Arizona law permits most drivers to use headphones or earbuds while driving (school bus operators are not allowed), though citations may follow if their use leads to missing emergency signals. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ The Arizona Board of Regents approved a $3M grant to boost sustainable agriculture as the Arizona Department of Agriculture partners with three public universities + a new research hub in Yuma to tackle groundwater depletion and resource challenges. KJZZ
- ➤ Rep. Adelita Grijalva introduced a bill on Dec. 8 to repeal the 2014 law licensing a land exchange for Resolution Copper at Oak Flat, a sacred site for Apache peoples & a central focus of local debates over environmental and cultural protection. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ Residents should know that smoking marijuana in public is illegal under Arizona’s Smoke-Free law; first offenses may incur fines up to $500 and consumption is allowed only on private property (with owner approval when renting). The Arizona Republic
- ➤ Arizona has a waitlist for child care subsidies that includes more than 10,000 kids following federal funding cuts last summer, and the list grows by about 150 families weekly. State officials say an investment of $165 million a year is needed to eliminate the waitlist. KJZZ
