  • Becky Lynn, a longtime KTAR anchor, will be inducted into the Arizona Media Hall of Fame on April 2 at the Arizona Biltmore Ballroom, honoring her decades of service in local media.  KTAR
  • The supermoon, also known as Luna Fria, rises at 4:14 a.m. tonight for observers in Maricopa, followed by meteor showers on Dec. 13–14, a winter solstice on Dec. 21, and planetary conjunctions on Dec. 7, 27, and 31 — a modest but exciting display of celestial events this month.  The Arizona Republic

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Starting in January, Allied Tube and Conduit Corporation will cut 205 jobs by April, Evernorth Care Group will lay off 143 employees on Jan. 1 as it shifts to HonorHealth, and Nordstrom will dismiss 36 remote credit staff on Feb. 21. All moves follow 60-day WARN notices.  The Arizona Republic

  • State officials have flagged a new threat to Arizona's SNAP program that may result in food stamp benefit cuts; discussions will continue as local lawmakers assess potential changes.  12 News

  • The Diamondbacks will seek new pitching options at winter meetings in Orlando from Dec. 7-10, with GM Mike Hazen noting talks centered on reliever Pete Fairbanks as market prices remain high. The team remains active amid competitive free agency.  The Arizona Republic
  • Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker suffered a right groin injury in the first quarter on Dec. 1 against the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena — he returned briefly before leaving and will be re-evaluated in a week and miss the next three games.  The Arizona Republic
