COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Wildlife World Zoo in Litchfield Park announced on Monday that guests will soon see a pack of endangered African wild dogs and rare red and white giant flying squirrels—animals not seen at any other public zoo in the U.S. The zoo will also offer a private penguin encounter, a Halloween event on Saturday, and a Giraffe Jam family fun run on Nov. 1.  KTAR

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Arizona shoppers can already buy frozen turkeys below $1 per pound, with Aldi offering Jennie-O turkeys for $0.77 and Fry’s selling Butterball turkeys for $0.99 per pound & a limit of one turkey per customer. Safeway and Albertsons list turkeys at higher prices while Bashas’ and AJ’s offer ready-to-eat Thanksgiving meals as the holiday approaches.  The Arizona Republic

  • ADOT announced the 2025 Safety Message Contest finalists and the public can vote on which safety slogans will appear on freeway signs. Voting ends Oct. 27 (online submissions closed Sept. 22) as the agency works to lower roadway fatalities.  KTAR
