  • The Arizona Attorney General’s Office partnered with state agencies to host a missing persons awareness event on Oct. 18 at ASU’s West Valley campus in Glendale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.—the event features a noon candle-lighting ceremony and a support session for families while officials collect identifiers to help resolve ongoing cases.  KTAR
  • Former Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich will not become Serbia's new ambassador after the White House withdrew his nomination on October 6 — he said the process stalled due to a lack of support for his background despite his family ties to Serbia.  KJZZ
  • The U.S. Supreme Court declined to review Apache Stronghold’s case against the land swap that would let Resolution build a copper mine at Oak Flat on Oct. 6—keeping the legal fight alive in lower courts. Opponents now must continue challenging the decision through ongoing litigation.  The Arizona Republic
  • Adelita Grijalva won the special election on Sept. 23 to replace her late father and said on Tuesday she has heard nothing from the House about when she will be sworn in. Her district lost constituent services after the office closed on Sept. 19—plans for a new office and staff remain on hold until she is officially sworn in.  KJZZ
