- ➤ USA TODAY released its list of the 10 best grocery stores in the country and two Arizona stores were included—ALDI, which has 15 locations in the Phoenix area, and Natural Grocers, which operates 11 outlets statewide. The Arizona Republic
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Erika Kirk—widow of Charlie Kirk and new CEO of Turning Point USA—will appear at the final stop of Megyn Kelly Live in Glendale on November 22 at Desert Diamond Arena, where she will give her first lengthy live interview. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ Arizona lawmakers campaigned on promises to change Washington but have passed very few laws—only 20 bills in 69 years of combined service. Experts say this low rate highlights a wide gap between campaign promises and real results for Arizonans. KJZZ
- ➤ The Arizona Department of Public Safety announced this week it will launch a new SAFE Alert program to replace the Silver Alert system. The updated program will use multiple media channels to find missing persons—like seniors and those with health conditions—through expanded alert criteria. KTAR
- ➤ Today, a lawmaker and a Valley school district superintendent are locked in an escalating dispute over financial documents—each side accuses the other of withholding key facts. The disagreement continues as both parties have yet to provide further comment. 12 News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 25th, the Arizona Cardinals debuted their new Rivalries uniforms and nearly rallied from a two-touchdown deficit but lost 23-20 to the Seattle Seahawks after kicker Jason Myers made a 52-yard field goal as time expired. The team scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns at State Farm Stadium yet could not overcome the deficit. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ The Diamondbacks lost 8-0 to the Dodgers on Sept. 25 at Chase Field and remain in playoff contention with three games against the Padres pending. Manager Torey Lovullo said the team must win every game—if they want a chance at the final wild-card spot. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ Frank Gennario from Chandler has been a loyal Arizona Diamondbacks season ticket holder since 1998—he moved from New York City in his 20s and has rarely missed a game. The 68-year-old fan said his most special moment was throwing out the ceremonial first pitch after his grandson died and watching his son Tony catch the ball, a memory he treasures.
