ECONOMY NEWS

  • Nav Sapra, who runs an ARCO station on 16th Street, sets gas prices each day based on a wholesale cost that shifts with oil prices, transport costs and local taxes. • The Arizona Supreme Court ruled on Friday that a law forcing patients to prove gross negligence during a public health emergency violates the state constitution—this decision reverses a lower court dismissal of a COVID-19 negligence claim against the Mayo Clinic and sends the case back for further proceedings. • Attorney General Kris Mayes agrees with plaintiffs suing to block a $1 million transfer to Turf Paradise because it may break the state constitution’s gift clause.
