EDUCATION NEWS

➤ Most school districts in Maricopa County set fall break for early October, but some districts start in late September or November. Chandler Unified begins its break on Sept. 22 and Palo Verde Elementary on Nov. 25 — several districts have not yet posted their schedules. The Arizona Republic

HEALTH NEWS

➤ County officials seized over 7,000 pounds of unsafe meat from street vendors following 111 complaints and 55 inspections between May and July. The vendors selling tacos al pastor may be operating without proper permits and pose a foodborne illness risk — officials said. 12 News
