- ➤ The final Maricopa County Home and Garden Show will be held at WestWorld of Scottsdale from Friday, Sept. 26 to Sunday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.—offering over 1,000 exhibits with dream kitchen contests, pumpkin carving sessions, garden workshops, and kid activities at $10 admission with free parking. - ➤ Arizona State football is preparing for their first SEC road game in Starkville on Sept.6 — the team’s first SEC trip since 2012 — as coach Kenny Dillingham said his players will work on controlling chaos against a fast up-tempo offense after a win over Northern Arizona. He added that injury updates are still pending as Mississippi State has added many new players. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ The Phoenix Mercury beat New York Liberty 80 to 63 on Aug. 30 to win the season series 3 to 1 (Mercury 25, 14; Liberty 24, 16) and move into sole possession of the No.4 spot in the standings. Coach Tibbetts said the team will work hard in five remaining games, including hosting Indiana today, to build further playoff home-court advantage. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ The Arizona Diamondbacks host the Texas Rangers today at Chase Field at 6:40 p.m.—after pitcher Ryne Nelson delivered a strong six-inning outing last week and Patrick Corbin recorded an eight-inning shutout on Aug. 26th despite a tough August. The series continues with games on Sept. 3rd and Sept. 5th as the Rangers cope with injuries and lineup changes. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ ASU football is ranked No. 11 and is expected to perform well this season as head coach Kenny Dillingham leads a team with strong depth—with longtime announcer Tim Healey confident they will meet high expectations. The Arizona Republic
