- ➤ The final Maricopa County Home and Garden Show will be held at WestWorld of Scottsdale from Friday, Sept. 26 to Sunday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.—offering over 1,000 exhibits with dream kitchen contests, pumpkin carving sessions, garden workshops, and kid activities at $10 admission with free parking. - ➤ Arizona State football is preparing for their first SEC road game in Starkville on Sept.6 — the team’s first SEC trip since 2012 — as coach Kenny Dillingham said his players will work on controlling chaos against a fast up-tempo offense after a win over Northern Arizona. He added that injury updates are still pending as Mississippi State has added many new players. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ The Phoenix Mercury beat New York Liberty 80 to 63 on Aug. 30 to win the season series 3 to 1 (Mercury 25, 14; Liberty 24, 16) and move into sole possession of the No.4 spot in the standings. - ➤ The Arizona Diamondbacks host the Texas Rangers today at Chase Field at 6:40 p.m.—after pitcher Ryne Nelson delivered a strong six-inning outing last week and Patrick Corbin recorded an eight-inning shutout on Aug. 26th despite a tough August. The series continues with games on Sept. 3rd and Sept. 5th as the Rangers cope with injuries and lineup changes. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ ASU football is ranked No. 11 and is expected to perform well this season as head coach Kenny Dillingham leads a team with strong depth—with longtime announcer Tim Healey confident they will meet high expectations. The Arizona Republic
