FINANCE NEWS

  • A financial website said Arizonans may need to work an extra 12.7 hours each month to save 20% of their income because many spend about 77% on needs due to high living costs — leaving little for savings. The report urged adjusting work hours and budgets to help close the savings gap.  The Arizona Republic

HEALTH NEWS

  • Arizona lakes can host a rare brain-eating amoeba—Naegleria fowleri—that can enter the nose and cause a fatal infection if swimmers do not use protection. Local health experts say using nose clips or avoiding going underwater can help reduce the risk during warmer months.  The Arizona Republic

SPORTS NEWS

  • Arizona State will play Northern Arizona today at 7 p.m. MST at Mountain America Stadium in a two-game series where a 2016 contract pays NAU over $1 million—$575,000 today and $600,000 in 2028—and provides 1,700 complimentary tickets per game. The agreement also allows NAU to request up to 500 additional tickets for sale and requires that tickets for cheerleaders, mascots and the band come from its allotment.  The Arizona Republic
  • Reports say Phoenix Raceway is considering a doubleheader event with an IndyCar support race on March 7 and a NASCAR Cup Series race on March 8 in March 2026 after a seven-year break from IndyCar racing — a spokesperson confirmed discussions about the plan.  The Arizona Republic
