  • ➤ New York Giants rookie Cam Skattebo, the former ASU running back, has missed practices and preseason games due to a hamstring injury and is expected to miss the season opener on Sept. 7—team officials are considering placing him on injured reserve to allow a return after four weeks.  The Arizona Republic
  • ➤ The Arizona Cardinals lost 27-7 to the Denver Broncos in their second preseason game, and backup players were overmatched while several starters sat out. Kicker Chad Ryland tested his range with a 72—yard field goal in warmups and new signing Jacoby Brissett showed promise as he led parts of the offense before the regular season begins.  The Arizona Republic
