- ➤ Seventeen-year-old Daniel Jian earned a perfect ACT score as he prepares to pursue a bachelor’s degree. He balanced his academic achievements with time for family and friends—showing his strong commitment both in school and at home. 12 News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On June 4th, routine testing found avian influenza in birds at Maricopa 05, the fourth commercial farm to test positive in the county — none showed symptoms before testing and were not used for egg production. The Department of Agriculture said infected poultry are being culled by heat treatment to reduce virus spread and protect farm workers. The Arizona Republic
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Phoenix 10K will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Nov. 9 by launching its first 26.2—mile marathon along with 5K, 10K and half—marathon races at Biltmore Fashion Park. Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego will serve as the official race starter and present the Mayor’s Cup to the winner while participants benefit from prize money, hydration stations and a live YouTube stream. - ➤ On June 4, the Suns hired Jordan Ott as their new head coach and he said he earned his role while dismissing his ties to Michigan State. He plans to build the team step by step around star guard Devin Booker to use aggressive and systematic play to push the club forward. 12 News
