CULTURE NEWS

  • Starting June 2, Harkins Theatres will launch its Summer Movie Fun program with eight weeks of weekday movies at 9:45 a.m. through July 25 for an $8 season pass or $2 tickets—kids 13 and under must come with an adult. Tuesday Night Classics will show classic films on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Wednesdays at 1 p.m. for $5, and senior and military discounts will lower adult fares by $2.  The Arizona Republic

  • Supervisor Thomas Galvin said he hopes judicial oversight of the Valley sheriff’s department will end soon as the county works with a constitutional lawyer to find legal solutions. The oversight stems from a racial profiling lawsuit during Joe Arpaio’s tenure—costing taxpayers $352 million over 15 years and leading to a $34 million approval for compliance next year that may let more deputies return to the streets.  KTAR

SPORTS NEWS

  • At the 2025 Phoenix Open, the tournament raised $18.1 million in charity donations—more than last year's $17.5 million.
