CRIME NEWS

  • Pastor Bill Schonemann—76—was found Monday night at his New River home and his death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner, with detectives finishing processing the scene near Circle Mountain and 16th Street. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said investigators are following all leads and that the incident poses no further risk to the community.  12 News
  • Police said a shooting near 99th Avenue and Camelback Road in west Phoenix on Thursday left 61 year old Reginald Anderson dead and led them to arrest his 33 year old daughter in Maricopa on suspicion of first degree murder and aggravated assault—she denied involvement.  12 News

  • The Arizona Game and Fish Department is holding a life jacket exchange program this May to let boaters trade old jackets for new ones—events include offerings from May 15 to May 24 in various locations such as Rotary Park in Bullhead City and Tempe Town Lake.  KTAR
