- ➤ Experts urged parents to talk with their children after several incidents at Valley schools left kids unsettled; the advice was offered to help families process the events and address concerns as investigations continue. 12 News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Arizona State baseball beat Texas Tech 10-7 on April 17, and head coach Willie Bloomquist condemned online threats to his players and families, calling the actions cowardly and warning that anyone threatening them should instead come after him. The Sun Devils will finish their series on April 19. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ The Phoenix Suns fired coach Mike Budenholzer on Monday after a 109-98 loss capped a 36-46 season. Former color commentator Eddie Johnson said Budenholzer did not mix hard coaching with enough softness—causing problems with veteran players. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ On April 18, the Cardinals signed wide receiver Greg Dortch to a one-year $3.3 million deal that ensures he returns for a fifth season. Dortch played all 17 games last season, catching 37 passes for 342 yards — he also recorded three touchdowns, five carries and returns on punts and kickoffs. The Arizona Republic
