  • 7-Eleven announced it will close 645 stores nationwide this year for underperformance; details have not been released on which locations will close, but Arizona’s 140 stores—mostly in Phoenix and Tucson—might be affected if they fall in low-traffic areas. The company plans to shift focus to fresh food and delivery services.  The Arizona Republic

CULTURE NEWS

  • Arizona influencer Susana Parra built a TikTok community of over 25,000 followers by sharing her fashion tips and personal journey. After launching In Focus Content in Jan. 2025 to capture event moments, she plans to complete a personal styling course soon (inspiring local women to embrace everyday style).  The Arizona Republic
  • R&B superstars Chris Brown and Usher will perform at State Farm Stadium on Sept. 29, 2026 during their co-headlining tour. Ticket presales open Tuesday, April 21 via Citi, with general sales starting Monday, April 27.  The Arizona Republic

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The IRS reminds Maricopa taxpayers that requesting a six-month extension (via Form 4868) only delays filing paperwork while any taxes owed must be paid by today to avoid penalties. Taxpayers can apply online, by mail, or with an electronic payment.  The Arizona Republic

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health officials warned today that a measles exposure occurred at three Queen Creek spots when a case was confirmed; individuals who visited Costco on April 3, Walmart on April 4, or Generation Church on April 5 should watch for symptoms (fever, rash, cough) through late April.  The Arizona Republic

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Retailers are offering outdoor gardening gifts for Mother's Day on Sunday, May 10. Shoppers in Maricopa can choose from patio sets, smart bird feeders and raised garden beds to create inviting outdoor spaces.  The Arizona Republic

  • Cam and Chilly host Coach Jason Mohns on Dropping Dimes on the 12+ app (where he recounts his coaching journey) as he will be honored with the Distinguished Arizonan Award this Saturday at the National Football Foundation Bill Riddle Chapter banquet.  12 News
  • Arizona State football hosted entertaining spring drills as 10 newcomers impressed during scrimmages amid key roster gaps from graduation. The team will open its season at home on Sept. 5 against Morgan State.  The Arizona Republic
