- ➤ Televisa will film its new rural telenovela 'Hermanos Coraje' in Arizona—covering locations including Tubac, Tucson and Phoenix—with production set to begin mid-April and a premiere scheduled for early Oct. The Arizona Republic
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Rental prices in the Mountain West have dropped between 1.5% and up to 5% from last year, with Arizona following this trend. Builders are now constructing about 10% of new single‑family homes to rent — increasing options for renters. KJZZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Industrial Commission is set to review task force recommendations on heat safety for workplaces in Arizona at a public meeting Apr. 9. Employers from construction and farming give mixed responses, with some backing the rules while others worry about added burdens & inflexibility. KJZZ
- ➤ Gov. Katie Hobbs and Sen. Ruben Gallego are asking federal leaders to grant waivers on the summer gas blend rules that raise fuel costs, a change that might save drivers 40 to 50 cents per gallon. Experts warn the waiver could worsen air quality in Maricopa (as summer demand increases). KJZZ
- ➤ On Monday, Apr. 6, the Arizona Department of Gaming launched a PSA campaign called Take Back the Game to address problem gambling by promoting a self-exclusion program for residents to ban themselves from gambling sites, event wagering & fantasy sports. PSAs air on TV, radio and online. KJZZ
