- ➤ Forever 21 filed for bankruptcy protection on Sunday due to stiff competition from fast-fashion online retailers and significant losses over the past three years—closing sales have already begun at some of its over 350 U.S. locations, including eight in Arizona, as Authentic Brands searches for a buyer. - ➤ Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing is expanding its north Phoenix campus and hiring for jobs including engineers, technicians and apprentices in paid on-the-job training programs — the company plans to grow from 3,000 to 6,000 employees and is working with local colleges to build a skilled workforce, with pay for technician roles starting in the $40,000 range and rising to $70,000 for experienced staff. - ➤ Border Patrol agents arrested Edgar Armanda Vargas-de La Rocha near I-8 after he admitted working for the Los Memos cartel and helping smuggle about 1,000 undocumented immigrants into the country last month — his plea hearing on a felony conspiracy charge is set for March 20. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Arizona Lottery published the winning numbers for the March 15 drawing with Powerball numbers of 12, 28, 33, 36, and 54 and a Powerball of 5 and The Pick numbers of 6, 8, 13, 20, 27, and 35; funds from these games have supported education, health, environmental conservation, and business programs.
