- ➤ Community Comadres—a nonprofit in the Valley del Sol—will hold its second annual Quinceanera Scholarship event to give three teen girls a special party and a $5,000 scholarship each. Applicants aged 14 to 17 must apply by April 18, attend interviews on May 4, and winners will be announced on July 28. The Arizona Republic

- ➤ Twenty-eight finalists from over half a million students competed in the annual Arizona Spelling Bee at the Madison Center for the Arts in Phoenix, facing over 20 rounds in a six-hour contest—seventh grader Esha Marupudi from BASIS Chandler won and will represent Arizona at the centennial Scripps National Spelling Bee in May. - ➤ The Phoenix Suns will face the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena Sunday afternoon without LeBron James, who is sidelined with a left groin strain, while another star—Luka Doncic—is set to play despite a right ankle sprain.
