  • Luke Days 2026 will feature joint flight demonstrations by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds & U.S. Navy Blue Angels on March 21-22 at Luke Air Force Base near Glendale. Admission is free but all guests must pay $45 per car for parking.  The Arizona Republic
  • On March 8, a video from a local rider showed a Waymo vehicle stopping in the middle of a busy Chandler road while attempting a multilane left turn, causing passengers to express alarm. Waymo said safety is paramount and it uses customer feedback to refine its driving behavior.  The Arizona Republic

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The U.S. and Mexico will start USMCA talks next week, which may affect tariff-free imports that support Arizona’s local businesses + supply chains. Mexican business leaders back keeping the pact to help maintain steady shipments of produce, metals, and aircraft parts from nearby areas.  KJZZ

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A report from Wood Mackenzie and the Solar Energy Industries Association shows Arizona added nearly 2-gigawatts of solar power in 2025, reaching about 11.5 gigawatts and beating APS' peak demand of over 8.5 gigawatts while other parts of the nation saw lower installations.  KJZZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Valleywise Health doctors warned that an early heat wave could bring record-breaking temperatures in our area, with triple-digit highs expected Tuesday, Mar. 17—residents and visitors should take precautions against heat illness.  12 News
  • Allergy season in Maricopa is severe as warm weather brings early tree pollen and later grass pollen; dry air makes allergens linger. Check local pollen forecasts and use air conditioning to reduce symptoms+ these steps can ease discomfort for residents.  The Arizona Republic

  • Bobby Hurley will not return as ASU basketball head coach after 11 years—Athletic Director Graham Rossini announced Wednesday following the team's loss to Iowa State in the Big 12 tournament.  12 News
  • The Arizona Cardinals released quarterback Kyler Murray yesterday and thanked him for seven seasons with the team — reports indicate the Minnesota Vikings may pursue the free agent next.  12 News
  • The Cardinals finalized six free agent signings on short-term contracts, including guard Isaac Seumalo and running back Tyler Allgeier, as they take a cautious approach toward reworking the roster. The moves average just over $30 million per year + set the stage for a clean slate in 2027.  The Arizona Republic
