  • Girl Scout Cookie season is underway as local scouts in Maricopa begin selling cookies today across neighborhood stands (with popular varieties available) to support their troop activities.  12 News
  • Chandler Chamber Ostrich Festival is moving from Tumbleweed Park to Rawhide Western Town and Event Center for 2026; the festival will run over two weekends (March 13-15 and March 20-22) to offer more space for parking, rides, and attractions.  KTAR
  • Two memorials were unveiled at Apace Junction — honoring Officer Gabriel Facio, who was killed in the line of duty in 2025 — to mark his legacy within the community.  12 News

  • A report by MovingPlace shows Surprise’s ZIP code 85387 ranked sixth nationwide, drawing 11 newcomers per 1,000 residents in December — new residential communities and affordable housing keep the area in demand.  The Arizona Republic

  • Jeremy Hathcock has been hired as the head football coach at Perry High after one season at Mesa, marking his fourth school in four years. He informed Mesa players on Jan. 21 and will replace Joe Ortiz (24-23 record) as he takes charge of Perry’s team.  The Arizona Republic
  • Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green returned from a right hamstring injury on Jan. 20, scoring 12 points in 20 minutes off the bench in a 116-110 win over the 76ers; his teammates praised his speed and positive attitude as he works to regain his rhythm.  The Arizona Republic
