EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Cartwright School Board voted to return to a 5-day schedule after three years of a 4-day week — some parents and board members expressed frustration. The district will implement the change soon. 12 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State Rep. Nick Kupper has introduced a bill (HB 2325) that will limit institutional investors to owning no more than 50 single-family homes to help first-time buyers by imposing a waiting period and blocking bulk purchases. The measure must pass several legislative votes before it reaches the governor. 12 News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Women's flag football edged closer to NCAA status when the Division I cabinet approved its addition to the Emerging Sports for Women program on Jan. 14 (in Washington D.C.). Arizona high schools continue growing the sport, having completed three sanctioned seasons and anticipating further varsity expansion. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ Charles Barkley praised Suns forward Dillon Brooks for sparking offense since joining from Houston (in the Kevin Durant trade) as the team rallied in their Detroit matchup on Jan.15 and prepares to visit New York at Madison Square Garden on Jan.17. The Arizona Republic
